From Self-Doubt to Self-Belief

May is a time of growth, renewal, and stepping firmly into who we’re meant to be. Last month, we welcomed April with fresh starts and good feelings—this May, I want to share the journey I’ve taken from daily anxiety to a life grounded in self-love, worthiness, and clear purpose. I hope that by opening up about the changes I’ve made and the outcomes I’m now celebrating, you’ll feel inspired to nurture your own transformation.


The Wake-Up Call: When Anxiety Held Me Back

There were many times, I'd wake in the night gripped by panic—my heart racing, convinced something was terribly wrong. Those anxious nights led to hospital visits, fearful that my heart was failing me, only to be told, again and again, “It’s anxiety.” Alongside these panic attacks came the negative voices of self-sabotage telling myself the “I'm not good enough” eroding my self-esteem and making true self-love feel impossible.

  • I put everyone else’s needs first, even when it left me empty.

  • I procrastinated on what scared me most, terrified of failing or asking for help.

  • I told myself stories about my own unworthiness, despite holding leadership roles, I felt I’d merely “winged.”

This mindset wasn’t just exhausting—it kept me from stepping into my full potential.


Leaning Into the Hard Work: Tools for Change

The turning point came when I decided to address the root: my anxious mind and limiting beliefs. I committed to a holistic self-care regimen that included:

  1. Coaching: By working with my own coach, I learned to identify the hidden stories I was telling myself (“I’m not clever enough,” “I don’t deserve success”) and to reframe them into empowering truths.

  2. Yoga & Mindful Movement: Daily practice helped me anchor in my body, regulate my nervous system, and cultivate compassion for myself in every pose and breath.

  3. Ongoing Learning: Books on neuroplasticity, self-compassion, and leadership transformed my understanding of what’s possible when we change our thoughts.

With each session, each class, and each page read, I chipped away at the barriers that kept me small.


Celebrating the Outcomes: A Full Cup and a Bright Future

Today, I wake up without panic. My heart feels strong, and so does my belief in myself. Here’s what’s different now:

  • Self-Belief: I own every title I’ve held—spa manager, national sales manager, salon CEO—because I earned them through expertise, grit, and heart.

  • Boundaries & Balance: I honour my limits, saying “no” when needed, so I can say “yes” to what truly lights me up.

  • Synergistic Businesses: Every facet of my work—from coaching to workshops—flows together effortlessly, fueling both my passion and my pocket.

  • Full Cup Living: With my own cup full, I can pour into my family, my clients, and my community without fear of running dry.

  • Healthy living: - Fueling my body with the right food, liquids, supplements, exercise, infrared saunas, cold plunges & good people around me

This shift didn’t happen overnight. It took dedication to self-work, but it was, without doubt, the best investment I’ve ever made.
